Aug. 22 Mt. Vernon (Fortville) (T) (W) 43-7
The Kats started out the season with a much better effort than a year ago. Kokomo set a school record with 72 rushing plays for the game while posting a 43-7 victory over Mount Vernon. Bruce Johnson scored the only touchdown for the Wildkats on Friday at Coldwater as the Kats fell 41-7. Curt Hutchins led the Wildkats in tackles with eight, and Tyrone Brown had an interception to lead the defense. We made it tough on ourselves Friday by giving short field scoring opportunities. Coldwater had to drive the ball one time over 40 yards for a touchdown. With four turnovers and three punt snaps that were unsuccessful, Kokomo helped a good team be even better. We will look to rebound this week in our home opener against Anderson. – Coach Colby
Sept. 5 Anderson (H) (W) 54-28
After a tough first half on Friday the Kats came out with a great second half effort on defense that allowed Kokomo to pull away with a 54-28 victory. The Kats dominated in all three aspects of the homecoming game on Friday against New Castle. Offense, defense, and special teams all played very good. New Castle had zero offensive yards going into the 4th quarter of the game. The defense also scored two times with Curt Hutchins intercepting a pass for a touchdown and Cliff Burns getting credit for a safety. On offense Braxton Shelton and Jairus Johnson each had two touchdowns. Drew Marshall had his best night of kicking and punting. Drew was 4-4 on extra point attempts and averaged over 40 yards a punt on Friday! The Kats go on the road Friday against Richmond (7:30 start time), who is 3-1 in NCC play. ― Coach Colby

A win this week clinches at least a tie for a conference championship. - Coach Colby
Oct. 10 Logansport (T) (W) 37-13
Kokomo wrapped up at least a share of the 2008 NCC football title by defeating Logansport on Friday by a score of 37-13.

The defense was strong again against a rushing attack that was second in the conference behind Kokomo. Logan was held to only 69 rushing yards for the evening. The top two tacklers for the Kats were Curt Hutchins and Casey Shipley. It was Casey’s first defensive play of the season and he did a very nice job!!
