Personal Comments: Let’s see, can I possibly sum up the last 40 years?…….what a ride!!

Left Kokomo, early ‘60s, for Chicago. (Jim Harmon, old friend, where are you!) There I enrolled in as many colleges as I could, or that would take me, and became an engineer.

Got drafted however, late ‘60s, becoming probably the only guy in the military at the time who was not either going to or coming back from Vietnam. Served good duty in a Texas tank unit, truly crazy times. Dylan, Beatles, Mammas & Papas, even learned some guitar myself.

Back to Chicago, early ‘70s, furiously engineering away and enjoying the view on Chicago’s Lake Shore Drive. Discos and CB radios, man!

Met and married Belinda, late ‘70s, the most beautiful woman in Chicago. (She’s sleeping while I write this, and still beautiful.) Spent some time in South America with Belinda, and then back to Chicago to begin the rest our lives.

Married life in the Chicago was even greater than single life. Bought and rehabbed a convent in the inner city to raise a family. (Insane Unknowns, are you still out there?) The Beautiful One delivered twins, early ‘80s, one boy and one girl, of course! I became surrounded by beautiful humans. After that, I always felt sorry for those who had children just one at a time.

Finally did the Suburban thing. Designed and built a house, Lake County just outside of Chicago, late ‘80s, one of the coolest things I ever did. Queen Anne, second story porch, couldn’t quit staring at it the whole five years that we lived there.

By this time, I guess I’m ready for the Engineering hall of fame. Got offered a dreamy job in Tennessee, early ‘90s, and headed for Music City USA, Nashville. Picked up the guitar again, you probably haven’t heard my latest CD, cause there ain’t one.

I still love the automation engineering that I do but the challenges of that are nothing compared to trying keep my son from cracking up cars. In two years he has banged up five cars (that I know of), including a triple roll-over, total wipeout in my favorite Bonneville, and I’m running out of insurance companies! He remains unscratched, and I know the Lord is watching over this fool for some special reason. He and his twin sister are both entering college in Washington DC this August, and the Beautiful One and I are entering a whole new part of life. Stay tuned! Might trade in all our left-over cats for a foster child. Maybe teach him/her some guitar engineering.

By the way, did I mention the other family we raised back in the Chicago days? The Beautiful One also had children prior to our own twins; so that rehabbed convent filled up fast. One is now a surgeon and professor in Manhattan, one is in the film business in Burbank CA, (Speilberg!) and one is still in Chicago, raising her own family of twins!

Well there you have it----forty years in a few short paragraphs. Kinda makes you tingly all over, don’t it.

Personal Comments: Has it really been 40 years! Well I'm still young at heart - 39 and holding!!!

We are busier now than ever. I am an R.N. and work part time at the Indiana Surgery Center North in Indianapolis. I really enjoy the O.R. plus it keeps me mentally fit and physically in shape. My husband Bob has a chemical company in Indianapolis, which also keeps him very busy.

Between us we have 6 children and 81/2 grandchildren (due in August).

My daughter Kristi lives in Noblesville, and my son Erik lives in Charleston, South Carolina.

We've built a large California style home in Zionsville. which has monopolized my time for almost 5 years doing the designing and decorating. The fun part has been numerous trips to North Carolina and California looking for furniture.

We do a lot of entertaining and traveling, and our biggest problem seems to be that there is only 24 hours in a day!

I feel like I'm 16 again, except I'm sober now and I'm too slow to catch the women (the young ones, anyway). Spent 7 months on vacation in Europe in 1999. Took the family. I wanted to stay, but wife at the time said no. So, I painted the flags of my favorite Mediterranean countries on my fingernails. Personal Comments: I retired from the U.S. Navy (Aviator) as a Commander in 1988. I'm currently the Operations Manager for the Engelhard Surface Technologies plant in Deerfield Beach, FL. My wife Jennifer is a Guidance Counselor in the Palm Beach County School System. Our son Chris was Married last October, and lives in Big Sky, Montana. Our son Mike is still single and also lives in Big Sky. Our daughter Laura is single and lives in Los Angeles. We are looking forward to some grandchildren one of these days! Favorite pastimes are driving our Vette (I succumbed in middle age!) and weekends and fishing in Key West. Hope to be able to make it to the reunion.
