Welding Technology

Welding Technology is designed for proper training in the welding field. Successful graduates are adequately trained for entry-level employment and/or may qualify for further vocational and educational training. Each student will receive an individualized training plan designed specifically for his or her needs. Students will receive training in basic shop safety and small tool usage that is related to a welding shop or department.

Along with this training, students will be trained in the four basic welding processes: Oxyacetylene (gas welding), Shielded Metal Arc (stick welding), Gas Metal Arc (Mig or wire welding), and Gas Tungsten Arc (Tig or heliarc welding). In addition, instruction is provided in layout and fabrication skills needed to produce the many welded products in everyday life.
