Introduction to Courts introduces students to topics related to the adjudication (court) process in criminal cases including arraignments and preliminary hearings, suppression hearings, trials, sentencing, juvenile court and probation and parole. Students will review the role of criminal justice personnel in the court process. Areas of study will include the legal system, criminal procedure, the court system, participants in the legal system and sentencing. Students pursuing a career in any area of criminal justice will find this an informative and relevant class. Prerequisite: Introduction to Criminal Justice |
