Automotive Collision Repair training is through the ICAR Advanced-Tech curriculum. The first year of a designed two-year program offering instruction in the necessary skills to enter the auto body trade. Forty percent (40%) of instruction is theoretical and sixty percent (60%) is devoted to “hands-on” experiences. The student will receive 540 hours basic metal straightening, grinding, sanding, and refinishing. Students may provide their own tools or utilize the tool rental program. Additional financial requirements include a textbook rental fee, workbook, a respirator and a lab fee. Second year students continue their training for an additional 270 hours of instruction on bumper assembly overhaul, fender, door, quarter panel and hood removal and installation, advanced finishing, body and frame measuring and straightening, unibody collision repair, alignment, and front and rear suspension systems. |
