Early Childhood Education is designed to provide students with interactive hands-on career education in the class-run preschool. The high school students plan activities for the preschool children in science, math, self-help skills, health and social skills. The preschool children attend on Tuesdays and Thursdays during both semesters. Class members will have an opportunity to participate in an internship environment during the second semester through the P.A.C.T. Program in childcare facilities throughout the community. Study in the classroom will include child development principles, activity planning, guidance and discipline, health and safety issues, co-worker relations and work professionalism. Students study Early Childhood Development curriculum.
