This International 6th-grade team from Central Middle School – front row, l-r: Gabrielle Killebre and Autumn Strickland; back row, l-r: Patience Cox and Julian Madrid – earned 3rd place in the Region in the Spring Stock Market Game. During this past school year, students in teacher Mary Page’s 6th-grade International Humanities class earned 3rd place for the Region in the Spring Stock Market Game. The International team members were Patience Cox, Gabrielle Killebrew, Julian Madrid, and Autumn Strickland. Competing teams were given a hypothetical $100,000 to invest as they learned about the financial markets such as the New York Stock Exchange. Page explained that her students used actual data from the stock markets to create and manage a portfolio of stocks and mutual funds. |
