According to statistics from Howard County Solid Waste District officials, Howard County schools recycled more than 1.1 million pounds in 2011.

Vice Principal Kelly Barker originally started the recycling program at Kokomo High School four years ago, and it has grown to include the entire high school and the Kokomo Area Career Center. Mrs. Brock thanked the cafeteria staff for participating in 2011 by recycling boxes and cans.
