Progress Toward the 21st Century

Construction as of 1/26/98

Progress is remarkable in the east wing of the addition. Ceiling lights are already up in several of the rooms and cabinetry is also being installed. Block work is nearly finished in the band area, but much work is needed on the exterior brickwork. A technology class had to be relocated into rooms in the new addition so that work could proceed on the remodeling of their area in the existing building. As always, stay tuned!

Students and staff are coping with the construction as well as can be expected. Heavy trucks leaving the construction area leave huge trails of mud behind them, which must be crossed. On rainy days the area can resemble a mud bath and hallways and rooms are loaded with clumps of mud from the students' shoes. The custodial staff is doing a great job of keeping the inside clean with frequent mopings. Just a few more months of this and it will be over. Hurrah!
